Ma Ma Ma Mad

By Merlynn Tong

See the joy, pain and madness of life mixed with a healthy dose of humour celebrated in this one-woman show set in a Chinese Karaoke bar.

Based on writer and performer Merlynn Tong’s life, this powerful play follows her childhood in Singapore and explores death and suicide, sex and sexual awakening, family and culture. Tong brings us a heartfelt and honest tale, switching effortlessly between herself, her mother, her maid and her ex-lovers. Ma Ma Ma Mad is an honest, endearing and ultimately hopeful tale from a woman who was orphaned as a child, and became an international artist.
